Q. I’ve been searching for a particular spirit but haven’t
seen it in any liquor stores. Can I order it for myself through 1-877-SPIRITS.COM?
A. First please check with your local liquor shop and see if this product is available
in your state/country. If it is available then they would be able to order this
product for you. If it is not available in your state/country we would be unable
to assist you. We do not send products from the U.S. to other countries; we work
with local vendors in the particular area of delivery. If this product is not available
in the REQUESTED LOCATION, we cannot assist you with your order.
Q. I opened a bottle of liquor and it was spoiled. How can
I get a replacement?
A. Check the label of the bottle. The company who distributes the product will be
printed on it. Call them and they will give you information on what to do.
Q. How will I know my gift order has been delivered?
A. A delivery notification will be sent to you once the gift delivery has been completed
to all the recipients on your order. If you wish, you may call us at 1-877-SPIRITS
(774-7487) or email us at
Info@1877SPIRITS.COM. One of our Gift Counselors will
be happy to assist you. If there have been any delays in the delivery of your gift,
you will be notified by e-mail or telephone.
Q. I was told that I could not arrange to have a liquor
gift delivered to a friend who lives near me. Why?
A. WE DO NOT COMPETE WITH LOCAL RETAILERS. As part of our service to the public,
we WOULD inform you that the product you wish to purchase IS available, or may be
ordered for you at your local retailer at a more economical cost. Our prices include
charges for standard delivery (3-5 business days), gift-wrap, personalized gift
message, our service charge and any taxes. Since you would be better served at your
local retailer WE WILL NOT PROCESS YOUR ORDER.
Q. I was told that my order could not be verified because
my credit card information did not match. I know that this is my correct address.
Can you still process my order?
A. Due to our strict verification policy, if we cannot verify that all your information
is correct we cannot arrange for your delivery. You will either have to call your
credit card company and have them rectify the situation or provide us with another
credit card. Once the matter is straightened out, we will be happy to process your
order.
Q. What credit cards do you accept?
A. We accept American Express, MasterCard & Visa.
Q. I want to send a particular product to someone but it’s
not on your website? Does this mean it’s not available?
A. 1-877-SPIRITS.COM can have any product delivered for you as long as it’s available
in the state/country you want to send it to. Please email or call us for more information.
Tell us what product you are interested in and the town, state, and country it is
to be delivered to. A gift counselor will get back to you as soon as the information
is available.
*Please note: Due to time differences, international product/delivery requests may
take up to 24 hours to get a response.
Q. How much time will it take for my order to be delivered?
A. Our standard delivery terms are 3 - 5 business days within the United States.
Standard delivery outside the U.S. is 5 - 7 business days. To guarantee that your
gift will arrive sooner charges may apply.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT EXPEDITED ORDERS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 3 PM EST. THESE CHARGES
ARE ONLY EFFECTIVE FOR BOTTLES BEING DELIVERED IN THE UNITED STATES. GIFT BASKET
DELIVERY FEES MAY BE HIGHER. A GIFT COUNSELOR WILL CONTACT YOU BEFORE YOUR ORDER
IS PROCESSED TO MAKE YOU AWARE OF THE CHARGES. FOR EXPEDITED GIFT DELIVERIES OUTSIDE
OF THE US, PLEASE CALL. WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO ACCOMMODATE YOUR REQUEST.
Q. I placed an order for a delivery going outside the U.S.
I was contacted and told that the price was higher than what was shown on the website.
Why is that?
A. Our prices shown are based on the U.S. national average. Most products are more
expensive internationally due to the high delivery costs and the changes in the
value of the dollar.
Q. What size bottles are pictured on your site?
A. All bottles shown are 750 ml (or fifths), unless otherwise stated. Some brands
are available in other sizes as well. If you would like a larger or smaller bottle
sent, please email or call us to find out if the size you want is available.
Q. What is included in the price for each gift?
A. The prices listed on our website include delivery charges, tax, gift-wrapping
and a personalized note for deliveries nationwide in a fashion compliant with all
applicable laws.
Q. At what temperature should I serve my wine?
A. White wines, sparkling wines, and rosés all taste better at temperatures somewhat
warmer than the average refrigerator (38°) or ice bucket (32°). For lighter-bodied
wines such as Rieslings, Loire whites, most Sauvignon Blancs, Chenin Blancs, and
real Chablis, 45° is close to ideal. Fuller-bodied whites taste better at slightly
warmer temperatures with the richest white Burgundies, Chardonnays, and dessert-styles
(Sauternes) showing best near 55°. Red wines show their best between 55°
and 60° with lighter-weight reds (Beaujolais) capable of handling a chill down
to as cool as 48°-50°. Fuller-bodied reds such (Bordeaux, Rhone red, California
Cab, Zinfandel, and Australian Shiraz) are at their best around 60°.
Q. How long will this bottle of wine keep after I've opened
it? What can I do to help it last?
A. A few wines such as Tawny Ports, Sherry, and Madeira will keep almost indefinitely
after the bottle is opened. Most young red wines will hold up for a day or two after
the bottle is opened, even if all you do is put the cork back in. If you want the
wine to last longer, put it in the refrigerator; cold slows the oxidative process.
This can add a day or two to the wine's keeping ability.
Q. Can you tell by looking if a bottle of wine is bad?
A. Not with 100% accuracy but there are some telltale signs to check. The main culprit
in damaged wine is heat. A bottle that’s been hot may show marks on the bottle
in the form of a sticky residue around the capsule, a cork that looks like it's
trying to push out of the bottle, or a streak of wine running from the capsule.
Q. How long should I keep this wine before I drink it?
A. The amazing but true answer for ninety-nine percent of all wine sold is “at
least until you get it home and have it cool enough to drink.” For the other
one percent, the answer is “it depends.” What it depends on is whether
you have a suitable place to keep wine. For long term storage, wine wants a cool
(Below 50° is too cold, 55° is ideal, over 70° is just too warm), dark,
vibration-free place. If you don't have such a place, think about buying and keeping
only wines you intend to drink within a year or two at most.
