Dark cherries, plums, graphite, menthol, smoke, lavender and spices burst from the glass in the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate. Energetic and vibrant to the core, the 2013 deftly balance plush fruit with plenty of energy and tension. Citrus and white pepper overtones add an exotic flair on the finish. The sample I tasted was a core blend of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, but the final blend will be quite different, as noted here. In 2012, winemaker Fredrik Johansson added dollops of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, which may turn out to be the case here as well.
