After 15 years on the market, Woodford Reserve introduces a new expression of bourbon crafted with a novel approach. The secret to creating Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Bourbon is doubling the maturation time and doubling the wood exposure by barreling the bourbon twice. Both barrels are charred oak – the second is deep toasted followed by a light charring to create a sweet, mellow character.
The nose is sweet with caramel and brown sugar aromas. On the palate, it’s oaky with vanilla and spice notes. Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Bourbon is best served neat to enjoy its strong character or with a single ice cube to reduce the initial burn. For bourbon lovers, include it in a custom bourbon gift basket!
Master Distiller, Chris Morris says, “The second barrel tells the story”. Check out Woodford Reserve’s visually appealing video about Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Bourbon here.
